Have you asked this question when things go unclear? What is God's will for me? Which is the best choice? etc...
Kids have plenty of questions. My kids are always asking me, "what's our sked? What are we going to do later? Are we going to church 9 am or 5 pm.? So many questions I hear everyday. So finally, I talked to my kids and told them... this is what you're supposed to do when you don't know what to do. (but of course, i revised some to make it a blog material)
1. ACCESS YOUR CONSCIENCEHumans are so different from animals. We have conscience. They have instincts only. We can think and choose. (esp after watching the movie "NEXT" by Nicolas Cage... He was unbelievable. He is definitely not a human. I think he is a "polar bear". Real life is not like that movie where you can rewind and re-do your decisions. Once you decide you suffer the consequence.)
"Because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God."
- Rom. 8:14 Are you led by the spirit? Do you ask God for your plans, sked and activities? Or do you just use instincts and 'gutfeels' to guide you? When you feel life is hard, remember this promise:
"All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. " - Psa. 139:16b
You have a conscience. Ask God which is the best choice. Inquire.
2. USE YOUR COMMON SENSECommon sense is not just instinct. It's the common wisdom people apply to solve ordinary problems of life. Unfortunately, common sense aren't as common as it used to.
Do not also over spiritualize things. God asked us to look at the natural in order to understand the spiritual.
"The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual."
- 1Cor. 15:46 Use deodorant if you need to. Don't pray about it. Take clorets if you need to. No need for spiritual counsel for that. There are a whole lot more things that are simple and basic in life.
Here are some:
WORK HARD. (That's basic. Sweat is good for your body)HONOR YOUR PARENTS. ( Don't tell me you need to pray for this)WIVES, SUBMIT TO YOUR HUSBANDS. (Hmmm. Hard but, its biblical)HUSBANDS, LOVE YOU WIFE. (Yup. yup.)CHILDREN, FINISH YOUR COLLEGE DEGREE. (oh aangal pa...basic yan!)For other things, access your conscience. For these ones... use common sense.
3. ASK FOR COUNSELAsk counsel when you can't really figure it out. When you and your wife are in a deadlock and arguments turn in to fights. When its hard to decide whether the open door is from God or not.... ASK COUNSEL. Its free.
Many people suffer loss for not asking advice.
"Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise." -
Prov. 19:20"Make plans by seeking advice; if you wage war, obtain guidance." -
Prov. 20:18 Lastly,
Align your FAITH. For He said:
"And God said, 'I will be with you.' " Ex. 3:12
"If you listen carefully to what he says and do all that I say, I will be an enemy to your enemies and will oppose those who oppose you." - Ex. 23:22
"I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him"
- 1Chr. 17:13
Be confident, He will be there for you when you don't know what to do.
